AwardWe continue to achieve the coveted Gold Bellamy Award for our work towards conservation on our park, first awarded to us in 2005.

The awards range from gold, silver and bronze and are awarded to holiday parks throughout the UK .

We were assessed on a number of factors, including the cultivation of flora and fauna, the creation of habitats designed to encourage a variety of wildlife on to the park, and recycling and waste management policies.

We are thrilled that the area of ancient woodland, which borders the lodges, played a big part in helping us achieve our award, providing an area of natural regeneration.

Message from David Bellamy:

"Welcome aboard and congratulations on all the hard work you have already put in. Straight into Gold. Very well done. Your assessor has made lots of suggestions to further enhance an already lovely park. And good news about you woodland assessment."

Comments from lodge owners:

"Set on a hill above the village surrounded by pine forest at the northern end of Kielder water and 2 miles from the Scottish border you are woken to birdsong and if and early riser deer walking through the site. All the cabins have birdhouses and feeding systems, rabbits abound (and moles). A truly peaceful and beautiful corner of our world."

"We have recently bought a lodge at Ravenshill. It has no amenities - no chip shop, no nightly entertainment, no on-site pub - only fresh air, beautiful surroundings (lots of young trees just planted - thoughtfully chosen to attract birds). We have beautiful walks on our doorstep, we see foxes and deer, the robins, chaffinches and other wild birds are attracted by all the bird feeders around-its bliss and well worth a visit."
